Hendersonville Soccer Club Midseason Review
The Hendersonville Soccer Club season has already been through the first half of their games and so far, everything has gone just for the better.
The team I help coach, referred to as green team, has already played four games and have won three. Currently sitting at a record of (3-2) because of a game that we had to forfeit due to not having enough players for the first game scheduled of the season.
Since the first practice, not a lot of our players had seemed to know much about each other but as the season went on and more practicing together, we started understanding more about each other.
Unfortunately, one of our players, Brax, got a horrible season ending injury where in the literal last seconds of the game he was charged at by the opposing goalie and he had said he heard a pop in his knee. We later found out that he torn his ACL, torn his meniscus, and torn his MCL.
In recreational soccer, injuries like that shouldn't happen because we're here to have fun and unfortunately things like that happen.
Since his injury, the team has had a small rotation of defenders and the most previous game since writing this, we were up 2-0 against blue team coached by coach Laura in the first half, but later found ourselves vulnerable in the second and ended up losing the game 3-2.
There are still 3 games left on the schedule and a tournament to be played, but there's always the room for improvement.
