Black History Month - Soccer Legends

During the time of Black History Month, I think it would be a good chance to show the history of black soccer legends who made the sport more diverse and who encouraged the world. These players helped the change of diversity through communities.

Arthur Wharton- The first ever black professional soccer player. Born in what is now Accra, Ghana in 1865. Wharton received backlash and racist comments for his time pro. That did not stop him from pursuing his career in soccer.

PeléEdson Arantes do Nascimento, or better known as Pelé, is one of the most accomplished soccer players of all time. Pelé has scored the most goals in FIFA history and has won three World Cups with Brazil. Unfortunately, he recently passed away on December 29, 2022. Pelé lives on as one of the greatest to ever do it and was an inspiration to all. He always had a hard time growing up and before no one wanted him to succeed because of the way he looked.

These players brought change for the better.
